The Problem
In a Del Mar, CA home, this honed marble floor was in need of some professional attention, as you can see in the BEFORE image. Minor problems included light etching and scratching, but the biggest problem was the grout, which had become loose and had fallen out entirely in some places.
Our Solution
First, we honed the marble to remove the etching and scratches. Our marble honing process takes off a very thin upper layer to reveal the brand new stone underneath. The result was a beautiful, low-sheen satin finish, exactly what the homeowners wanted.
To resolve the grout problems, we completely removed the old grout and replaced it with brand new grout, tinted to blend with the stone. This gave the floor a monolithic, uniform appearance shown in the AFTER image.
