Slate floor from dull…
This Poway homeowner’s natural slate patio had a chalky efflorescence, which is typical in areas where salts and minerals seep up through the stone via moisture, then evaporate, leaving salts and minerals embedded on the surface of the slate. Notice the shabby appearance of the floor on the right-hand side of the image.
…to wow!
First we stripped any sealer that was originally on the floor without damaging the natural surface of the slate. It was very worn out in parts from foot traffic and debris. After thoroughly cleaning the floors and extracting dirt and debris, we applied a penetrating color enhancer to bring out the natural color of the slate, which you can clearly see on the left-hand side of the image. The entire floor looked stunning when we were finished.
