When time, traffic, and usage take a toll, the appearance of honed and filled travertine declines
First, we cleaned and re-sealed this travertine floor. Then, we applied an epoxy grout stain to the grout lines
Sometimes travertine just needs a good cleaning and some minor restoration, as is the case with this floor

The honed/satin finish of this veined cut travertine plank flooring was very muted and lacked luster. We needed to adjust our regular travertine floor restoration process, because of the unique qualities of these travertine tiles.
When this travertine floor was first installed eight or nine years ago, the installers left residue from grouting all over the floor. This chalky residue filled all the little micropores in the surface of the travertine and really distorted the overall look of the floor.
When a natural stone installer sets tile unevenly, it creates a trip and fall hazard and gives the floor an unsightly appearance.
